On this occasion it is to transfer the pharmaceutical activities that were being managed from the centre in Palau de Plegamans to its current location in La Granada, in the Fondos de l´Estació Industrial Estate, in the Avenida Alt Penedés.

It is specifically a 5,500 square metre platform of which 2,500 are air conditioned at a temperature of between 15º to 25º centigrade for pharmaceutical products and which additionally has a refrigerated chamber at between 2º and 8º centigrade. This installation has been inspected and authorised by the AEMPS (Spanish Agency for Medicines and Healthcare Products) and meets both the GMP and GDP standards. The operation is performed from this centre by means of automatic carousels for picking management.

With the opening of these new premises, FCC Logístics meets the target set for this year of reorganising its activities in Barcelona, which began during the previous financial year. In 2011, The company transferred its consumer goods operations from the Parc Logistic Alt Penedès de Subirat to La Granada, to new installations of 16,500 square metres. This year, the company has opened a new centre in the town of Parets del Vallés, in the Can Volart Industrial Estate, of 3,200 square metres from where the logistics services for the pharmaceutical sector are managed.

As sources within the company itself explained, “The province of Barcelona is a strategic area for developing the activities of FCC Logística. With this opening, we have completed building our new centres in this geographical area, which has the aim of having more modern premises available to offer services of the highest quality and efficiency to our customers”.
